See where our story begins

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”

This quote by Mother Teresa guides us in our daily work to eliminate hunger in our community.

Our mission is to serve families in our community who suffer food insecurity with dignity and compassion. This has been our work for more than 40 years.

Serving our neighbors in need for more than 40 years

The GMCFP is the largest food pantry serving Washington County, Ohio. In 2019, the pantry served nearly 3,000 families in need.

The pantry was founded by three women, as a mission of First Congregational Church, in response to a devastating flood. The pantry grew to a capacity that merited a move to our current location. The pantry, now separated from the church,  re-organized independently under the name Greater Marietta Community Food Pantry which made it possible for our local food pantry and other feeding programs to continue to serve neighbors in need for 41 years.
